Week 6
Technorati
had an interesting time when i clicked on most popular searches i chose to search for things I was unfamiliar with so chose 17 gadis telanjang. The first time i searched no results showed up which I thought was strange given that this was listed as a very popular search. The second time three hours later 177 results showed up mainly for Indonesian websites which were mainly written in indonesian but also had the words sex and sexy girls. So too scared to look further given this is a work project I went and looked for fires in California which fortunately did bring up blogs about fires in California. The authority listing was interesting, but just because a site had high authority didn't mean that it had greater relevance. i searched for tansy which is a plant used in organic gardening, but found sites refering to people with the name Tansy. So I think these types of search engines work well when searching for people's reactions to and experiences of current events such as fires in California but it's much harder too find blogs about topics you are interested in as there dosen't seem to be a way to do a subject search for a blog. To be honest, del.icio.us was more my cup of tea, I'm more interested in finding cool new sites to explore rather than blogs.
Still, I searched via tags (on technorati) for 'robot' and found a great new video via someone's blog. It seems very 'hit and miss' unless you are able to be fantastically specific in your search. :) Great going on your blog.
